The first cover of Vanity Fair Italia, featuring artist and performer Virginia Raffaele, has recently been released in the metaverse space. Her figure is surrounded by a symbolic, multifaceted ring. The photo was taken by Nima Benati, and it is a remake of crypto art by the Swiss collective ValuArt, which is a partner of Vanity Fair.
Readers are transferred to the world of metaverse with a QR code. After scanning it with a smartphone, recipients see an animation of the cover.
The Italian magazine has an avatar
The magazine also announced that the first Vanity Fair avatar called Vanity Player One has been made. It takes the form of a character with which the recipients can interact. It is a kind of alter ego presenting the content that will appear in the magazine. What's more, the Vanity Player One avatar has become the hero of a unique fashion shoot, wearing clothes and accessories from leading designers. All of them have been reworked in 3D format, so they could be placed in the metaverse space.
Vanity Fair and digital technologies
Vanity Fair magazine got interested in digital technology last year. In September 2021, the magazine published the NFT cover. It featured the image of the singer Elodie, and was sold for $ 25 to the nonprofit Pangea.
