The use of blockchain technology is not limited to the cryptocurrency space, and more and more companies are starting to use its potential. He has recently joined this group Tauron - one of the main electricity suppliers in Poland.
Blockchain is not only about cryptocurrencies
Tauron Group, one of the country's largest electricity suppliers, recently announced its intention to use the technology blockchain. Although it is commonly associated primarily with production and trading kryptowalutami and tokens NFT, the scope of its application is much wider.
Blockchain-based IT systems create secure and durable data carriers. That is why they are very well suited where there is a need to securely manage confidential data on the network.
How will Tauron use blockchain technology?
According to the official statement issued by Tauron, the group intends to use blockchain technology to increase the security of digital communication with customers. As emphasized by Daniel Gryt, director of communications and marketing at the Tauron group, thanks to her, the company will be able to completely move away from sending out paper contracts.
The blockchain protocol that will be used is fully compliant with the regulations in force in the European Union on durable information carriers. This solution is associated with both lower costs and time savings.
The system used by Tauron is based on the Billion Blockchain technology, but it differs slightly from the systems used in the case of cryptocurrencies. The main difference is that it does not store password hashes to data, but the full strings that make up the entire document.
Due to the fact that they are written in a decomposed manner and distributed across the blockchain nodes, it is not possible to delete them or any unplanned transformations. The document may be read by the holder of an appropriate cryptographic key at any time.
What will consumers gain?
Thanks to the implementation of blockchain technology, clients of the Tauron group will gain constant access to their contracts, as well as a guarantee of authenticity and protection against any unwanted changes. It will also be possible to place various types of public documents in the blockchain repository.
It can therefore be expected that soon Tauron will completely stop sending any contracts, invoices or annexes via traditional mail. All paper documents will be replaced by a group of symbols that make up the recipient's private key.
