IOTA will take part in an innovative energy project that will be implemented in Germany. We are talking about a project called SUSEE (Secure Sensor Platforms for Smart Energy Networks), the purpose of which is to create a modern system for processing network data.
SUSSE involves research institutions
As IOTA announced on its official website, the SUSEE project in which it will participate is the fruit of a collaboration between the energy network operator SWO Netz GmbH and the research institutions Fraunhofer FIT / IPT, TU Chemnitz University, SMEs peerOS GmbH, mCloud Systems GmbH and TIP GmbH. It is them that IOTA is to provide high-quality technological infrastructure.
EUR 2,6 million in funding
The SUSEE project received EUR 2,6 million in subsidies from the German government under the seventh edition of the Energy Research Program. IOTA has the task of creating a data transmission system connected to the energy supply. It is intended to be a secure and scalable system capable of reading energy consumption data from end users and keeping them intact. The project will provide important support in the area of energy supply communication.
A promising venture
Representatives of the institutions involved in the project have great hopes for it. According to Andreas Baumgartner, CEO of mCloud Systems, the project will be based on a combination of the latest IoT technologies and protocols. thanks to which the wireless transmission of information will gain a high level of trust. In cooperation with IOTA, a modern and safe technological infrastructure is developed, which will form the basis for the operation of SUSEE. Daniel Demmer, co-founder of PeerOS, emphasized in turn that the aim of the project is to create an ECOsystem open to everyone, transparent and fully safe. On the other hand, Holger Köther, IOTA Director of Partnerships, indicated that the foundation strives to guarantee data integrity and secure data management. Köther is also enthusiastic about working with modern, forward-thinking organizations.
